With the “no more free ning” announcement earlier in the year and the increasing number of applications we have distributed in the cloud, I began to think about internet technologies that would make life a bit more difficult if they were to suddenly fall by the wayside. These are things I use everyday an educator, school technology coordinator and/or all-around frood. While the list grows longer I have limited it to the top 7 here. All of these services are free or have free versions.
Delicious – a social bookmarking site
RSS – particularly as it pertains to Feed Readers / News Aggregators
Firefox – browser of choice
Google Docs – online documents from any computer
Flickr – online photo sharing
Twitter – networking and microblogging
Podcasts – information and PD on-the-go
I’ll have to say without these 7, on-line life just wouldn’t be the same.
What’s on your list?
